MEMBERSHIP INFO & APPLICATION

SDI is open for membership to Malaysians and non-Malaysians: non-Malaysians could become Associate Members. Those interested in becoming members have to contribute to SDI by writing papers/articles on development in the Sarawak Development Journal and Channel-K (member's newsletter) or by presenting seminar or conference papers.

The number of members of the Institute (SDI) is growing. These include the Ordinary Membership, Associate Membership and Corporate Membership. If you have any queries on the updated list of the membership, please contact us.

INSTITUTE'S MEMBERSHIP

Currently, the Institute has about 142 ordinary members, 8 associate members and 11 corporate members.

MEMBERSHIP CRITERION & BENEFITS

Criterion for Ordinary & Associate Member

a. Submit an application form (online application form is also available) together with an article on development (3,000 words or more); or
b. Present a paper in the seminars or conferences organised by SDI

1. Ordinary Membership

a. 25% discount on registration fees for conferences & seminars organised by SDI
b. 20% discount for SDI's publications
c. Participation in forums, seminars, discussions and talks on current issues

2. Associate Membership

a. 25% discount on registration fees for conferences & seminars organised by SDI
b. Complementary SDI Journal for members not living in Sarawak
c. Participation in forums, seminars, discussions and talks on current issues

3. Corporate Membership

Corporate membership has been introduced since early 2001. It is open to organisations & corporations

  • As a Corporate Member of SDI, you would have the opportunity to establish mutually-beneficial partnership or networking with other organisations dedicated to the betterment of the State.
  • Your corporate support is also an excellent way for your company to give something back to society and the community.
  • Conference Special Rate Corporate members (a maximum of 3 persons to an organisation) are eligible for a 25 percent special rate for participating in any fee-paying conferences/seminars/talks organised by the Institute.
  • Free advisory on research and event management
  • Collaboration on talks and events
