Concept of confluence of cultures helps sustain cultural harmony, youths told.
KUCHING: The youths have been called upon to help sustain the cultural harmony in the state through at least another 45 years.
Assistant Minister of Youth Affairs and Tourism Hamden Ahmad said they could do this using the principle of the confluence of cultures, which according to him, had been spelled out clearly by 5th Sarawak Cultural Symposium.
SEMATAN: The voices of youth are important, as they are leaders of tomorrow.
Closing the Intercultural Youth Forum at Camp Pueh here on Sunday, permanent secretary to the Ministry of Social and Urbanisation, Ik Pahon Joyik said the youths' presentation was beyond his expectation.
SEMATAN: The relevant authorities are urged to create more opportunities for youth to have a platform to channel their thoughts and ideas on issues related to their interests especially on culture.
SEMATAN: About 120 youths from various organisations and leaming institutions participated in the Intercultural Youth Forum held at Camp Pueh from May 8-10.
This year's forum is a special one because it involves youth from outside the country namely Indonesia, Nigeria, Kenya and Iran.
