Youths' voices important, says Pahon

"I am impressed... beyond my expectation. You have the potential to become leaders in politics and in the corporate world," he said.
Pahon also said that the forum has borne fruit, where the voices of youth had been heard and would be studied closely by the government.
"What you have contributed during the forum through your presentation will be closely studied by the ministry and various other agencies," he said.
He also pointed out that because of the success of the forum, he had requested the youth to form a committee and continue to work and improve what they have discussed during the forum.
"My request from you (youth) is for you to form a committee to ensure that in years to come, you will be representing the youth of the nation and voice out your opinions to the government, and also as representatives for the upcoming Cultural Symposium that will be held on June 17 and 18," he said.
The grand cultural symposium will be held at the DUN here on June 17 and 18, to be attended by various community leaders throughout the country discussing on cultural issues.
About 20 youth from the forum would be chosen as representatives of the young people to voice out their opinions.
Meanwhile, with the success of the forum, Pahon announced that anyone who could create a blog or a website and post all that had been discussed during the forum or any activities by the youth, would be awarded with RM1,000.
"In the website or blog, post pictures or activities and discussions we had for the past three days here so that people and youth all over the world will be able to see what we have accomplished," he said.
Sarawak Developrnent Institute CEO Datu Aloysius J Dris also shared the same views with Pahon saying the presentation was ovel whelming and impressive.
Aloysius said that the points presented by the youth were very appropriate with issues of today especially with regards to the forum.
The youth were presenting what they have discussed over the past few days during the Intercultural Youth Forum that was held at Camp Pueh here from May 8 to 10.
Several issues were presented and pointed out by the youth regarding government policies, cultural development, and what could be done to improve them.
